Resources from County of Lake Health Services’ COVID-19 Team

 At home covid testing

Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order the 3rd round of free at-home COVID-19 tests. Order yours today by visiting USPS. Your order of 8 tests will come in 2 separate packages (4 tests in each package), each with its own tracking number. The tests available for order:

  • Are rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR
  • Can be taken anywhere
  • Give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required)
  • Work whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms
  • Work whether or not you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines
  • Are also referred to as self-tests or over-the-counter (OTC) tests

It is important that Lake County residents report positive at-home test results to SPOT Reporting in order to better protect our community. Your participation is vital to the County of Lake Health Services Department’s pandemic response planning.

If you are unable to safely obtain an at-home test and are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please visit our up-to-date list of Test Locations and Retailers to discover the best option to do your part in protecting our community.

If you are unsure of current Quarantine and Isolation Recommendations, please take time to review the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations and use their Quarantine and Isolation Calculator tool.

Testing is only one step you can take to protect yourself, friends, family, and others. All Lake County residents are encouraged to:

  • Get up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations. Visit Vaccine Information to find a vaccine or booster near you.
  • Wear a well-fitted mask when gathering indoors.
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance between people.
